Dear Drayton residents,
In late September some of you will have seen Drayton Road on BBC South Today. This feature on road safety (or lack thereof) followed a further serious collision and injury on the road which again closed it for several hours – That’s two serious accidents in as many months. There is now an online petition which asks for a 30mph limit and signage which encourages drivers to recognise the area as a village environment. The petition will be used to maintain momentum in discussions with the County Council, who continue to say that there needs to be more accidents before anything can be done.
If you would like to express your concern about the road and show support please sign the petition, which can be found at www.change.org Please search for ‘B4016’ or ‘Sutton Courtenay’.
This is not the first time residents have alerted the County Council to the dangers of the road. This time we need them to understand the full extent of the concern, so please sign the petition and share it with friends and family. Thank you to everyone who has already signed – the comments people have left are a good indication of people’s experience.
With best wishes
Bryony Landsbert
