Sunday 5th March 10:30am
All are welcome, to attend.
The specific Sutton Wick Air Crash 60th Memorial will start at 10:30am (we would ask all to wait outside until the doors open at the conclusion of the normal service that starts at 10am).
This will run until around 11am and on conclusion of this we will head from St Peters on foot to the Crash Site Memorial in Sutton Wick Lane and recommence the Service, with the reading of the names, the playing of Last Post and the laying of wreaths, with a final blessing.
Should the weather be awful, we will hold the majority of the service in the Church. With only a wreath laying and a blessing taking place in Sutton Wick Lane.
Post event we will head to the Wheatsheaf and Red Lion Pubs. Traditionally we have used the Wheatsheaf, but we expect a bigger turnout than in previous years so we may have to use both.
Car Parking – we are encouraging people to drop their passengers at the Church and then park their cars further afield, bringing back drivers in one car, to minimise issues around the Church and Sutton Wick lane. The landlady at the Red Lion, has offered her car park spots, as has the Village Hall (subject to confirmation of the fact the team are playing away). The local Golf Club have also offered their support – however it is a distance away.
There may well be media around on the morning of the event, who would like to hear from those who have a link to the tragedy.
