There are currently three vacancies on Drayton Parish Council. It therefore seeks to co-opt new Councillors when it meets at 7.30pm at The Caudwell Day Centre, Drayton, on Mon 12th November 2018. This unpaid position involves working for the local community as part of a team of 11 Councillors. The Parish Council usually meets on the evening of the first Monday of each month.
The work of the Council is organised into various areas i.e. Finance and Personnel, Planning, Leisure and General Purposes, Projects Board (Neighbourhood Plan) etc. Councillors often do some work on these areas between the monthly meetings.
Residents over the age of 18 can apply to join the council, as can non-residents with substantial links to the parish. The elections team at Vale of White Horse District Council or Lorraine Watling, the Parish Clerk, can provide further information about the eligibility criteria.
If you can contribute to the work of the Council and would like to be considered for co-option please email an expression of interest to the Parish Clerk email: clerk@draytonpc.org by the close of Friday 4th November 2018. This should include a few lines about yourself, your links to the Parish, your interests and how you feel you can contribute to the PC’s work within the community. You may also be asked to address the Council at the meeting.
